Quan Zhi Gao Shou - The King's Avatar!

Quan Zhi Gao Shou – The King’s Avatar!

Hello Brotakus! It’s CrazyTyphoon back from the dead! It has been a while since my last post, but this anime convinced me to make one! I will do my best to make this a spoiler free review!

“Quan Zhi Gao Shou”, also known as “The King’s Avatar” is a Chinese Anime. Yes, it is voiced in Chinese. Now, if any of you readers are not watching this Anime because it is in Chinese, I implore you to find a better reason. If language is the reason you do not watch a certain show or Anime, then you are missing out on a lot of good shows.

As a person who loves to read Light Novels and Web Novels, I have also taken a look at the Light Novel for Quan Zhi Gao Shou. I have stopped myself from reading passed the Anime, but I can say that the Anime has followed the novel quite closely, with a few minor deviations here and there. I have been greatly enjoying the Anime thus far and will continue watching it. After the season is over, I believe that I will continue by reading the novel.

Onto the review!!

The King’s Avatar is an action packed Chinese Anime. Do not let the fact that it is in Chinese push you away from the show. The show itself is quite good.

The story follows a man named Ye Xiu playing an online MMORPG called Glory. Ye Xiu is a top-tier pro-player who gets kicked from his pro-team for a number of reasons. After leaving the team, the tenth server of Glory launches he throws himself back in once more.

  • Well animated fight scenes draw you in.
  • Main character is very OP.
  • Each character has their own unique personality and quirk.

  • The beginning feels like it is a little rushed, not very much story so far.
  • There has not been a real challenge for the main character thus far.
  • Some animations are re-used quite often, such as the keyboard (APM) pressing animation.
  • Does not give a good portrayal of MMORPG players or the games.

Story   -   8.1 / 10

Since the show only has 7 episodes out, there has not been much story coverage. Only the introduction and the beginning of his climb back up to fame have been covered. However using the Light Novel as a basis and how it has a total of 1728 chapters I believe that the story will improve as we get more episodes.

Characters   -   9 / 10

The main character is quite likable. He is unique in some ways, and very normal in others. As a viewer I feel like I can relate to him in some aspects of his life.

The supporting characters all have their own quirks which make you like or dislike them. As you get to meet some of the recurring characters, you get to watch them grow and develop along with the main character.

Enjoyment   -   9 / 10

As of right now, I am enjoying the show very much. The gaming genre has been hogged by Virtual Reality type games for too long. It is good to see an Anime showing the use of mouse and keyboard. The fight scenes are quite enjoyable and keeps me itching for more. Since it is based off a completed light novel I can not wait for more.

This anime is very good and I recommend you watch it. It has nice fight scenes and good character development.
  • Fight Scenes
  • Character Development
  • OP Main Character
  • Little Story
  • No Challenges
  • Recycled Animations
  • Unrealistic

I am one of the many Otakus of Brotakus.com and have been an Otaku for over 10 years. I will be contributing mostly reviews on Anime, Manga, and Light Novels that I have read or watched. I am hoping to also do a few figure reviews on the figures that I have ordered. I am a huge One Piece fan so look forward to an Arc by Arc review of it!
