Mob Psycho 100 Summer 2016 Anime

Summer Spotlight: Mob Psycho 100

Mob Psycho 100 is one of this season’s most hyped-up shows for me, and there are only two things you need to know to get equally hyped; first – the show is being animated by BONES, second – the show’s story is based off of the web comic by ONE, the very same creator responsible for the smash hit One Punch Man.

I’m sure that everyone who’s watched One Punch Man all the way through is already super excited about this show and I don’t have to convince any of them to watch Mob Psycho 100 this season. If you’re one of the few people who somehow have not managed to watch One Punch Man yet – watch it first and then get ready to add Mob Psycho 100 to your list of shows to watch this season.

Kageyama Shigeo (a.k.a. “Mob”) is a 8th grader with psychic abilities. He could bend spoons and lift objects with his mind from a young age, but he slowly began to withhold from using his abilities in public due to the negative attention he kept receiving. Now, the only thing he wants is to become friends with a girl in his class, Tsubomi. With his psychic “mentor” (who has no psychic powers), he continues his daily life, attempting to realize his purpose in life.

What has us all really excited for this anime is that same level of bizarre humor we found in One Punch Man. The show looks to be just a quirky, with just as much amazing balls to the wall action. It is true that this show could end up being just a One Punch Man clone, but honestly I don’t think that would make Mob Psycho 100 any less entertaining.
