Persona 5 North American Release Date

Persona 5 North American Release Date Announced

Atlus has announced that Persona 5 will launch in North America on February 14, 2017. Atlus has thus far announced two different editions of the game.

The standard edition of Persona 5 will be available for $59.99 USD on PlayStation 4 or $49.99 USD on PlayStation 3. PlayStation 4 customers who pre-order the game will receive a limited SteelBook launch edition at no additional cost. Pre-orders for the game are open now and there’s no limit on the pre-orders.

Atlus will also offer a “Take Your Heart” collector’s edition for PlayStation 4 exclusively. The collector’s edition will include the game in a SteelBook case (the same as the pre-order), a 4” plush Morgana, a 64-page art book, a full-size Shujin Academy replica school bag (the collector’s edition is worth it just because of this item for me), a soundtrack CD, and a collectible box. The “Take Your Heart” Edition will be available for $89.99 USD, and again is a PlayStation 4 exclusive.

Persona 5 North American Steelbook Edition

Persona 5 was originally announced in 2013 with a winter 2014 release date, but was eventually delayed to 2016. Last month, Atlus announced that Persona 5 will launch on September 15 in Japan along with a 20th anniversary collector’s edition featuring a lot of bonus content. This content includes music from Persona 1 through 5, an art book, and special DLC for Persona 5. Unfortunately, there is no news of the 20th Anniversary Edition being released in North America.

While is does kind of suck that Persona 5 has been moved back to 2017, it does give everyone a bit of time with Final Fantasy XV. It’s nice that both games have some room to work in the North American audience now, and we really hope that both succeed so that we can get more great JRPG’s here in North America (and in Europe for that matter).

As always thank you for reading and please share this article around as much as you can! Let us know what you think of the release date being moved back, and let us know how many of you are importing from Japan to get it this September. I would also like to know how many of you are going for the “Take Your Heart” edition, so let me know!
