Wada Kouji of Digimon Fame Passes Away

At the age of 42, Japanese rock singer Wada Kouji passed away on Sunday, April 3 2016, due to cancer of the upper pharynx. Discovered back in 2003, a malignant tumor on Wada’s upper pharynx was treated with chemotherapy and surgery, with the assumption that the operations had left him cancer free. The cancer had recurred in 2011, when he put his singing career on hold, before returning to work on the remake of Butter-Fly for the new Digimon Adventure Tri series in 2013.

Well regarded for his first major debut in 1999, on the Digimon Adventure theme song “Butter-Fly”, he would go on to provide the vocals for the opening themes of Digimon Adventure 02, Digimon Tamers, Digimon  Frontier,  Digimon: Data Squad, and Digimon Xros Wars.

His work on Digimon, a series that had defined mine, and many other’s adolescent years, will not go forgotten.

I'm a pretty laid-back guy. I play the video games and watch the anime. I mean I like to write so there's that.
